I miss the strangest things...

So as I'm back in the U.S., it's interesting to see the things I've missed while living in Canada. Most notable so far is the low prices on everything! It's also fun to experience Southern hospitality. ( and sweet tea.) I had forgotten how much of a different atmosphere is created by being in a multicultural area. Going to Aldi's again and hearing half a dozen languages walking around on the beach...it's a beautiful thing. I really miss the global mindset of the people who live in cities...the awareness that there is a lot more out there than their state/province. Perhaps this is how it is in Calgary.

Something I had not forgotten was how much I miss Target (it's incomparably better than Walmart) my family laughed at how giddy I was to go there again. We went to a huge bookstore (sort-of like Half Price Books, only no music/movies and more old, rare, beautiful books. ) Old books are nearly as expensive as textbooks, and far more interesting to read and lovely to look at...The highlight of the day, however, was shopping at Goodwill and getting a new, full-length formal dress for under $6!
